Vinobrani Festivals in Prague

September in the Czech Republic is the time of the traditional festival “Vinobrani” – the festival of young wine.

Almost all of September, residents and guests of Prague can attend many events dedicated to Czech wines and try the products of local wineries, including Burchak – a drink from grape must that has begun to ferment, which Czechs love not only for good taste, but also for healthy ones cleansing properties.

We have prepared for you information about the Vinobrani festivals in Prague – fairs, tastings, exhibitions and festive events that you can visit during your stay in the Czech capital in the first month of autumn. Entrance to most events is free.

Vinobrani near the Eden shopping center
For the past seven years, the Vinobrani festival has been taking place on the square near the Eden shopping center, during which guests of the festival can taste the famous Czech burchak and various sorts of wines produced in the country’s 12 best distilleries. The wineries whose products are presented at this celebration are selected by the jury of the prestigious Král Vín competition.

In 2016, when buying an entrance ticket, each visitor to the event receives a personal glass for tasting, a catalog of wines presented at the celebration, and a pencil for marking. The number of tastings is unlimited. Festival guests will be entertained by musicians and comedians.

Trojské vinobraní
The Vinobrani festival is being held for the eighteenth time in the Troy Castle Park. It offers a huge number of wine stands, tents with delicacies and traditional Czech snacks, a large entertainment program with theater and circus performances, live music, dancing and competitions. Those who wish can also visit the castle wine cellars, taste different types of wines and attend a wine-making workshop.

Date: September 10, beginning at 11:00, ending at 20:00
Venue: Trojský zámek, Praha
Ticket price: 200 CZK for adults, 70 CZK for students and senior citizens, a visit to the castle and Vinobrani to Botswana are included

Vinobraní v Botanické zahradě (festival in the Botanical Garden)
A two-day wine festival in the Prague Botanical Garden, located next to the Troja Castle. Since the entrance ticket is valid for both festivals, it will be very convenient for those travelers who want to visit both holidays on the same day. The organizers promise a lot of music, dance performances and, of course, high-quality tasty wine. Drinks will be presented from the vineyards of St. Clara.

Ticket price: 200 CZK for adults, 70 CZK for students and seniors, a visit to Vinobrani in the Troisk castle and the castle complex itself are included
Monastery “Vinobrani” (Vinobraní v klášteře)
The territories of the monastery of St. Karl of Boromei will become the venue for the traditional “Vinobrani” for the third time – the first such festival took place here in 2014. An interesting program, a large selection of delicacies, young wines and burchak, tastings and a great atmosphere – this is what awaits guests here on this day!

Svatováclavská pouť na Proseku
The celebration at the entrance to the Podviní Park will last four days, with a fair, concerts, performances, tastings, attractions for children and many interesting events. On the evening of the last day of the festival, a large firework will take place.

Vinohradské vinobraní (festival on Jiřího z Poděbrad square)
Concerts of popular Czech groups, organic products and traditional delicacies, a large selection of wines and more than ten types of bourcak are a real celebration for those who want to feel the local flavor, relax, try delicious wine and buy yourself a few bottles of your favorite drink. By the way, an entertainment program for children will be held separately – performances, music, animators, many interesting contests and sweets will certainly not leave indifferent any small guest of this holiday of life.

Radotínské burčákobraní (Burchak festival in Radotín)
A large selection of young Burchak from winemakers from different regions of the Czech Republic, many varieties of cheeses, deli meats and traditional snacks will delight the body, and music, dancing and a wonderful holiday atmosphere will please the soul. Children are waiting for sweets, games, performances and theatrical readings of fairy tales.
