To begin with, Madrid is the highest European capital (it is located at an altitude of 655 meters above sea level) and, in addition, one of the most visited cities in Spain by tourists. The atmosphere in Madrid is not the same as, for example, in Barcelona, it is worth coming here to wander through the busy squares and streets, get acquainted with the bustling nightlife of the city and be sure to get into one of the best classical painting museums in the world – the Prado Museum.

Transport in Madrid
As you know, the subway of Madrid is simply magnificent (it is one of the oldest, most developed and best metro systems in the world). It has 12 lines plus an underground R-train, which is an integral part of the metro and connecting Opera and Principe Pio stations. As for trams or the so-called Metro Ligero, in the city itself you can use the three lines, which are also a continuation of the Madrid metro.

You can also comfortably travel around the city by bus (more than 200 city bus lines operate here). An interesting travel format for Madrid is the use of Teleferico, a cable car running through the capital between Paseo Pintor Rosales and Casa de Campo.
